Welcome fellow Bus Fans!
I've been a huge fan of North American school buses for as
long as I can remember. I grew up in New City, NY in
Rockland County which is about 25 miles north of New york City.
I rode on buses from the Clarkstown Central School District throughout the '80s and early '90s. They had some really great buses and drivers there!
I attended college at The State University Of New York At Buffalo and I earned my degree in Social Sciences.
Now all grown up, I reside in Boynton Beach FL in Palm Beach County. I work as The Director of Distribution and Merchandise as well as Associate Webmaster for a medical supply company.
People may wonder why I like school buses so much.. Its actually quite simple, buses are cool! Imagine driving a big diesel powered monster with over 500 lb ft of torque! As Tim Allen would say, "Rrraaa rraaaa rrraaa oh yeah, Power!"
But its really more than just that. School buses represent the safest and most economical mode of transportation for children. The people who drive these buses are a very decicated and patient bunch that deserve the upmost respect. Its not an easy job but these people are entrusted with our children every day and we must thank them for their efforts.
As for the vehcles themselves, each type of bus and manufacturer has a place in my heart for one reason or another. From the sounds to the smells to the memories of buses from yesteryear, they all mean something to someone.
